About KC

K.C. is change agent for the utility industry, with experience in consumer insights, sustainability, and marketing. His background spans multiple disciplines and industries, allowing him to bring unique insight to the clients he serves.

Currently, as Senior Product Manager for Market Strategies International, K.C. is guiding the largest syndicated utility consumer research program to provide critical insights for utilities pivoting their business models. He previously served as Senior Vice President at Chartwell and Assistant Director at the Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative.

K.C. also served as COO & CFO for ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, where he transformed the organization’s management structure in order to provide more effective leadership within key functional areas.  In addition to increased management effectiveness, this change also yielded 35% cost savings to the organization.

In a previous role, K.C. led ICLEI’s go-to-market efforts, including marketing/communications, sales, membership, and service delivery via seven regional offices serving a nationwide network of local governments.   He led strategic planning efforts for the organization, and drove tactical implementation of the strategy.  Key success include redesigning ICLEI’s website that increased total visits by 68% and page views by 48%, and securing over $3 million in funding.

Prior to joining ICLEI, K.C. was a Senior Project Manager for Atlanta BeltLine, Inc., the largest sustainable urban redevelopment project in the country.  At Atlanta BeltLine, K.C. managed the award-winning Historic Fourth Ward Park design and engineering project, as well as the multiple-award-winning $70 million Northeast Corridor Partnership.

K.C. built a consulting firm that facilitated public-private partnerships by aligning business and public policy goals.  This work involved, among other things, strategic marketing, training strategy, business plan development, and non-profit Social Return on Investment frameworks.

K.C. holds a BA in Political Science from Colorado College, and an MBA from Georgia State’s Robinson College of Business.  He currently serves on the City of Decatur (Georgia) Environmental Sustainability Board and as Treasurer of the Wylde Center, a non-profit focused on cultivating vibrant greenspaces and inspiring communities of environmental stewards.
